There’s lots to chew on here re: the co-evolution of Liz Phair’s public sexuality and wry sense of humor, and I’ve been thinking a lot about these things lately without having time to write it down properly. (Also I recently exclaimed, after discovering that an upcoming professional convention is to be held in Chicago, that I was totally going to plan my flight for the evening hours so that I could “[watch] the lake turn the sky into blue-green smoke, the sun [setting] to the left of the plane.” But I digress, nerdily.)
